Passion for cancer prevention earns Moda Health top honor

Each day, the Pacific Northwest health company delivers useful health information and offers disease prevention programs and cancer screening benefits that fire up employees and members to live healthy lifestyles and reduce cancer risks. For its unwavering fight against cancer, Moda Health (formerly ODS Health) has been selected by the American Cancer Society as the recipient of the 2013 Corporate Impact Award: Excellence in Cancer Control.
“Our cancer prevention programs touch the lives of thousands of individuals every day. For eight years, Moda Health has been a corporate champion and flagship sponsor for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® program. The company continues to promote efforts of the society within its employee giving program, such as Relay for Life®, offering Quit For Life®, a smoking-cessation program supported by AlereTM Wellbeing, and Camp Ukandu, an inspiring summer camp for kids living with cancer. Moda Health also advocates the society’s Meeting WellTM guidelines for physical activity and healthy food ideas at the workplace.
Along with offering employees cancer screening benefits that include 100 percent health cost coverage for preventive care screenings that have been reviewed and recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, Moda Health offers employees valuable nutrition information, on-site biometric health screening services, a Weight Watchers incentive program, yoga and exercise classes, and provides accommodations for bicycle-commuting employees and workplace exercise breaks. The company also holds an annual Charity Challenge that encourages employees to live healthy while raising money for their favorite local charities.
